Reviving You Recovery is a specialized, six-bed facility designed for adults who require real stabilization from a substance use disorder. Located in the heart of Riverside County, our program offers a quieter, more mature, and grounded atmosphere than larger institutional centers. Our detox program in Menifee, California, provides the essential first step of clearing the body and mind in a household setting where every client is known by name rather than a case number.

We understand that recovery is both a medical and a logistical journey. Many of our clients have complex lives that include professional responsibilities, legal obligations, or medical needs that cannot be ignored during treatment. Our team handles the unglamorous work, such as coordinating with a primary care physician, assisting with FMLA paperwork, or managing disability filings and court dates. By addressing these real-world stressors, we allow our clients to focus entirely on their clinical progress and long-term recovery.

Connection with nature

What Detox at Reviving You Recovery Looks Like

Detox is not limited to medication management or time spent in a clinical office. At Reviving You Recovery, medical care, daily routines, holistic therapies, and practical support work together to help clients stabilize and begin building habits they can carry into recovery.

Our medical team is equipped to support withdrawal from a wide range of substances, including drug use that may be stigmatized, misunderstood, or harder to place in traditional detox settings. While some programs focus more heavily on alcohol withdrawal, Reviving You Recovery also works with complex substance profiles involving inhalants, kratom, prescription stimulants like Adderall, and other drugs.

We also provide medically supervised withdrawal from alcohol, benzodiazepines, methadone, methamphetamine, and opioids, with care based on the substance, symptoms, and individual medical needs.

We encourage you to be honest about what you are using and how much. The goal is to understand what you need and determine how we can best support you.

Our house has just six beds in two separate properties, including two private rooms and three shared rooms. The small setting gives staff the opportunity to know each client closely, including their history, triggers, goals, and the things happening outside of treatment.

It also changes what everyday life feels like. There is one table and groups are small enough that an empty chair gets noticed.

Holistic care is part of the regular treatment schedule rather than an occasional add-on. These activities give clients practical ways to manage stress, reconnect with themselves, and regulate emotions during and after detox.

Intentional Morning Walks

Every day starts with a walk. It helps clients get outside and into their bodies before the clinical day begins while building a simple habit that can continue after treatment.

Equine Therapy on Tuesdays

Clients participate in equine therapy every Tuesday. Working with horses can provide opportunities to practice trust, awareness, communication, and emotional regulation.

Breathwork on Wednesdays

Off-site breathwork sessions are held every Wednesday. Clients learn grounding techniques that can be used during stressful moments long after treatment ends.

Art Therapy Three Evenings a Week

Three evenings each week include art therapy and creative expression. For many clients, making something becomes another way to process emotions, slow down, and reconnect with interests that substance use may have pushed aside.

Recovery often involves practical needs outside the therapy room. Our team helps clients manage those responsibilities while they focus on getting stable.

Case Management and Transportation

We provide transportation to appointments, court dates, primary care visits, dental care, and other necessary services. We can also coordinate and provide transportation for outside TMS and Spravato consultations, although those treatments are not administered at our facility.

Our case management and medical teams can also assist with FMLA paperwork, disability navigation, and discharge planning. The next step in treatment is developed with you rather than handed to you on your final day.

Family-Style Meals

Meals are cooked fresh and served family style. Clients can share favorite dishes, keep outside food in their own pantry space, and maintain small pieces of independence during treatment.

Sleep as a Clinical Priority

Broken sleep, vivid dreams, and nightmares can occur during early withdrawal. We address sleep as part of stabilization rather than expecting clients to simply push through it.

Alongside medication management when appropriate, we use BrainTap guided meditation, based on Dr. Patrick Porter’s methodology, to support relaxation and rest. The goal is to begin rebuilding healthier sleep patterns during treatment.

What the First Few Days Look Like

Detox starts with a medical assessment and a plan specific to what you have been using, for how long, and what else is going on with your health. Our nursing team monitors you around the clock through the acute phase. Medication management is part of that from the beginning, not something held back until things get bad.

Programming starts when your body can hold it, not on a fixed schedule. Early on, the priority is sleep, food, fluids, and safety. The walks, groups, and clinical curriculum come in as you stabilize.

Standard length of stay is 30 to 45 days across detox and residential treatment. We advocate for longer when the clinical picture supports it. Thirty days is often where the real work is just beginning, and we will say so to your insurer, in writing, as many times as it takes. We will not tell you how that turns out before it does. We will tell you exactly what we asked for and what we heard back.

What Withdrawal Feels Like, and What We Watch For

When someone stops using a substance their body depends on, the body adjusts. Some of it is uncomfortable. Some of it is dangerous. This is what our nursing team is watching for.

Tremors: involuntary shaking of the hands or limbs, monitored closely because it can signal escalation.

Disrupted sleep: insomnia, vivid dreams, and nightmares, treated as a clinical priority rather than an inconvenience.

Gastrointestinal distress: nausea, vomiting, and appetite loss as the digestive system recalibrates.

Cardiovascular changes: shifts in heart rate and blood pressure that need continuous supervision.

Cognitive fog: trouble concentrating or holding onto details, common through the early days.

Emotional volatility: sharp mood swings and irritability as neurochemistry rebalances.

Alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal can be fatal without medical supervision. Seizures and delirium tremens are real risks, and they are the reason medical detox exists. Do not try to taper either one alone. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. For a mental health or suicide crisis, call or text 988.

Impacting One Life at a Time

Medication Management and Stabilization

Medication management runs through detox and into residential. FDA-approved medications are used to manage cravings and take the edge off the physical pain of withdrawal, monitored by our nursing team around the clock. The point is not comfort for its own sake. It is that a person who can sleep and eat can participate in treatment, and a person who cannot, cannot.

After Detox: What Comes Next

Detox is the first stage, not the whole of it. Most clients move into our residential substance addiction treatment program, where the clinical work goes deeper and the days get fuller.

Aftercare starts before you leave. A specialized aftercare therapist begins working with you during treatment, so the handoff at discharge is to a person you already know rather than a phone number on a sheet of paper. Alongside it, your case manager builds a discharge plan with you, and you leave with our recovery journal program — a structured way to keep doing this on your own. Nobody should walk out the door and have to figure out step one alone.

Insurance and Payment for Detox

Most private insurance plans cover at least some portion of medically necessary detox services. The amount covered depends on your specific plan, including your deductible, network benefits, and any authorization requirements.

We will verify your insurance before admission and explain what your plan covers for detox, and work with your insurance for you to Verify your insurance.

Verification only takes a few minutes and does not commit you to treatment. We will walk you through your benefits clearly so you know what to expect before moving forward.
